Honeydew Melon is the sweetest and third most commercially popular melon, just behind watermelon and cantaloupe. Made 90% of water, honeydews are good fruit to hydrate. It has smooth rind and green flesh. Though the exact origin is unknown, it is presumed as having originated in Middle East or western Asia; melon seeds were brought to the Americas by Christopher Columbus. Egyptians considered honeydew melons sacred.

  • Honeydew melons have an extensive and diverse nutrient profile including vitamin C, K, B6, folate, calcium, potassium, magnesium, etc.
  • Honeydew is low-sodium and potassium-rich fruit and can help maintain healthy blood pressure levels. 1 cup has 12% RDI.
  • Being a good source of folate, Vitamin K, and magnesium makes honeydew melons capable of repairing and maintaining strong bones.
  • Regular consumption of honeydew melon is associated with lower risk of diabetes and health-related complications.
  • They contain lutein and zeaxanthin antioxidants that support healthy eyes and vision.
