Any religion for that matter, be it Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Jainism, Buddhism. Sikhism etc , emphasize giving back & charity as the responsibility of its followers. Dāna – is the practice of cultivating generosity. It is philanthropy that empowers and helps many.

American Red Cross
The Red Cross has been a consistent lifeline for people when they need it the most, providing disaster relief assistance, health and safety training, donating blood, delivering aid and support, service veterans and their families to name a few.
There are a ton of opportunities to volunteer with the Red Cross and there is always a need for volunteers – in the ground, behind the scenes, client facing, fund raising, outreach, in IT, as instructors and much more. Medical Reserve Corps – MRC
Public Health Emergency – The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a national network of more than 200,000 volunteers, organized locally to improve the health and safety of their communities. MRC volunteers step up to keep their family, friends, and neighbors safe and healthy.
MRC units organize and utilize local volunteers who want to donate their time and expertise to prepare for and respond to emergencies and to support ongoing preparedness initiatives. MRC volunteers include medical and public health professionals as well as other community members without healthcare backgrounds who want to improve the health and safety of their communities. Big Help For Education
Bighelp for Education is a volunteer organization dedicated to improve educational opportunities for children in India. Having recognized the problems associated with literacy in India, Bighelp strive to be a catalyst for spreading the awareness of literacy and achieve 100% literacy in India by directly funding and sponsoring education for children.

North South Foundation – Encouraging Excellence in Education is a volunteer driven non-profit organization established in Illinois in 1989. Volunteers are needed on all fronts and it benefits kids both in the US and in India.

Society For The Blind
Established on December 29, 1954, Society For The Blind’s mission is to empower individuals living with low vision or blindness to discover, develop and achieve their full potential. It is a nationally recognized agency and the only rehabilitative teaching center for a 27 county region of northern California for people who are blind or low vision. Each year over 5,000 individuals participate in programs and services through classes at the teaching center, in-home training sessions and community workshops.

BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha – Humanitarian Services
