Dear Readers,

This new year, I’ve been thinking a lot about personality, strengths and weaknesses. This development in my thought can be attributed to a virtual high school retreat experience I partook in recently. As we students currently lack ways to bond in person, we were offered a chance to learn more about each other using personality tests. I learned more about myself in addition to learning about my classmates (I highly recommend taking this one – 16personalities.com), but more importantly, this exercise opened my eyes to how very similar yet vastly different we all are. Students who had almost exactly the same personality results could be totally different people. If we humans are different from each other in a million way, we are alike in a million and one ways. We all laugh and cry, hope and grumble, smile and frown. Our differences make us unique and our similarities bring us closer together. It’s refreshing and really cool to see people in terms of their strengths and our similarities. With that in mind, I challenge our readers to strive to connect with (in your own mind) and see the good in every person you meet this year. Remember “attitude is a choice.”
