Editorial April 2021
Dear Readers,
April is a month full of interesting events in years past. Indeed, history seems to have been made in remarkable ways in April. The first U.S. Mint was founded in April – coincidentally, the Reserve Bank of India was also established in April. There are many special birthdays – the famous author of fairytales Hans Christian Andersen was born on April 3rd. The spacecraft Apollo 13 was launched in April; it was on this trip that Astronaut James Swigert uttered the momentous words, “Houston, we’ve had a problem.” Fortunately, the three astronauts on board the Apollo touched safely back down on earth – on April 17th, 1970. Lots of things have happened in Aprils past, but history continues to be made each day. It’s hard to believe that events happening each day around us are going to be history someday in the future. This month, here is a call to action to search for your local history. Explore from the comfort of your couch by reading about the history of your country, or perhaps the city you call home. Or else, if this is safely possible, explore the town itself. You’ll probably be shocked at how much you discover. There’s a lot that’s happened before our time. Take a moment this month to learn a bit of the history of this amazing world. Stay positive! Sending good vibes.
With love,
Editor Jaanu
