Scottie Scheffler: 2022 Masters Champion
2022 has been an unbelievable year for Scottie Scheffler as a golfer! Playing solid and extraordinary golf for just a couple of months changed his professional golf life forever in a wonderful way.
Scottie Scheffler is an American professional golfer who was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey and moved to Dallas, Texas at age six. Coached by Randy Smith at Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas, Scheffler had tremendous success early, winning 75 times on the PGA junior circuit.
At Highland Park High School he won individual state titles three years in a row and was the top-ranked junior golfer in the country in 2014. He graduated from University of Texas in 2018 and helped them to win three Big-12 championships and 2017 Walker Cup.
After turning pro in 2020, he was named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, after shooting a 12-under 59 – the joint second lowest in PGA Tour history. After February 2022, wins came in a rush. In a matter of 57 days, he won three PGA tournaments (at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, Arnold Palmer Invitational and WGC-Dell Technologies Matchplay) and the Masters – becoming the World No. 1 golfer. No one ever before enjoyed this sudden meteoric rise in their professional career what Scottie achieved in those mind-boggling 57 days. Congratulations, champion! ⛳️
