Editorial March 2022
Dear Readers,
As green shoots and sprouts are rising up everywhere and spring arrives, March in Boston is characterized by St. Patrick’s Day. With this spring feeling comes anticipation of St. Patrick’s Day. With student council at school, we plan to hand out to chocolate coins and plan Spirit Week to align with St. Paddy’s. Historically, it makes sense that this Irish holiday holds such a sway over Bostonians. When whole towns and cities count down the days until a holiday with such relish, it becomes important! In towns like Walpole and Scituate, 1 in 2 people claim Irish heritage. Of course, there’s also the saying that “everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.” With symbols like pots of gold and leprechauns. appearing in decorations everywhere, a lucky feeling is in the air. The famous symbol of St. Patrick himself, the clover, can be seen budding everywhere as frozen ground starts to melt. I think it’s wonderful to allow the season to buoy our spirits and encourage our hearts after a long winter. It’s valuable to remember too that luck is most often a mindset. Still, having a little extra skip in our steps makes for a special month.
Love,
Editor Jaanu
