Safe Ways to Celebrate Together: Ideas for virtual Holiday Activities – By Jaanu with a little help from the CDC
A Christmas apart is not the same as a Christmas together, we all know that. But there are a few ways we can make the distance apart feel less. Here are some suggestions from me and the CDC!
- Watch holiday movies together! Check out this month’s Jot-Thought for a suggestion.
- Get together via FaceTime or Zoom to open gifts!
- Make cookies or holiday crafts to deliver to neighbors and friends in a safe way, such as delivering them at the door.
- Throw a virtual dance party with your family – if everyone is at home, play a family game of Just Dance!
- Hold a snowman or snow angel contest outdoors, if you have snow!
- Cook together! Video-call friends or family, and decorate cookies or gingerbread as a group.
- Build a snow fort and have a snowball fight, if you have snow!
- Eat New Year’s Dinner together, and have family members show off their best dishes.
It’s not easy to have to stay apart from loved ones, especially during a season of togetherness. But there are some ways to stay close safely… Stay well, Readers! 🎄🎄🎄
